Ambassador of Fiji officially visits Jerusalem for the first time

The Republic of Fiji has appointed its first ambassador to Israel, who resides in Jerusalem.

On Tuesday, Jesoni Vitusagavulu presented his credentials to Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog. Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka inaugurated the embassy in Jerusalem in September.

Relations between the two countries have existed since 1970. Vitusagavulu has previously served as ambassador to other countries, including the United States. He studied at Bar-Ilan University, among other institutions, and earned a degree in air traffic management.
