The Ministry of Environmental Protection announces that today, February 16, high to very high pollution still prevails in all parts of the country. The high air pollution stems from respirable particles originating from south-easterly winds causing dust transport from the direction of Jordan to our region.

The Ministry of Health recommends that sensitive populations—including heart and cardiovascular patients, lung patients, the elderly, pregnant women, and children—avoid strenuous physical activity in the open air. The general population is also advised to reduce strenuous physical activity outdoors.

The poor air quality is expected to continue tomorrow, February 17, and the day after tomorrow, February 18.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection will continue to update the public as necessary based on forecasting data and data measured at monitoring stations across the country.

You can track the monitoring stations using the Ministry of Environmental Protection’s mobile apps: SvivaAIR – Air Quality – AndroidAvir Ba’Sviva – iOS, or on the Israel Air Quality Monitoring website.
